William Austin Jones started boxing in July 2007.
January 25, 2008 - First boxing bout at the 68th Annual East Texas Golden Gloves Tournament where he received his first amateur win.
September 24, 2008 - Received the Presidential Champion Bronze Award as part of The President's Challenge program in recognition of his commitment to adopt and maintain a physically active and fit lifestyle.
October 29, 2008 - Featured guest at the Sulphur Springs Independent School District National Red Ribbon Week for a Drug-Free America. William and Coach Duffey put an impressive display with their jump ropes and hand pads (focus mitts). William signed his first autographs and handed out his first trading cards were he quickly ran out due to high demand.
November 12, 2008 - Received the Presidential Physical Fitness Award as part of the President's Council On Physical Fitness and Sports program in recognition of his outstanding physical achievement and exceptional dedication to the ideal of a sound mind in a strong body.
December 6, 2008 - Competed in the Rudolph's Red Nosed 5K run and finished in 4th place overall male, 1st place 10-14 year old age group with a time of 23:17:85
December 16, 2008 - Received the Presidential Champion Silver Award as part of The President's Challenge program in recognition of his commitment to adopt and maintain a physically active and fit lifestyle.
April 27, 2009 - Received the Presidential Champion Gold Award as part of The President's Challenge program in recognition of his commitment to adopt and maintain a physically active and fit lifestyle.
January 30, 2010 - Fourth boxing bout at the 70th Annual East Texas Golden Gloves Tournament. William won the bout in 27 seconds in the first round.
